The I AM Children's Museum is designed to be more than a place families visit. It is envisioned as one of Central Florida's premier family destinations where children lead exploration, families create lasting traditions, and every visit inspires curiosity, creativity, and connection. Every aspect of the museum has been intentionally planned to deliver a seamless guest experience, exceptional hospitality, and year-round operations that support both local families and Orange County's growing tourism economy.

The Museum Experience

Every guest journey is intentionally designed to begin long before arrival and continue long after families return home. From planning a vacation or school field trip to walking through the museum doors, every interaction is designed to remove stress, build anticipation, and create unforgettable memories.

Rather than following a prescribed path, children are encouraged to lead their own adventure through a series of interconnected indoor and outdoor experiences that inspire imagination, creativity, movement, and discovery. At the heart of the campus is the museum's signature Tree of Possibilities, serving as both an iconic landmark and the central gathering place connecting every major exhibit and experience.

Guests begin their journey in a beautifully restored historic home before branching into immersive experiences focused on creativity, design, science, nature, community, wellness, and hands-on exploration. Indoor galleries seamlessly transition into outdoor learning environments, water discovery, and the Eco Trail, creating a museum experience unlike any other in Central Florida.

The museum is intentionally designed to encourage repeat visitation through rotating exhibits, seasonal programming, live demonstrations, festivals, special events, and continually evolving educational experiences, ensuring every visit offers something new to discover.

Accessibility & Inclusion

The I AM Children's Museum is committed to creating an environment where every child and every family feels welcomed, represented, and able to participate.

Universal accessibility principles are being incorporated throughout the campus, including wheelchair-accessible exhibits, outdoor exhibits, pathways, gathering spaces, and nature experiences. The museum is also planning sensory-friendly accommodations, family support spaces, and inclusive exhibit design to ensure children of all abilities can fully engage in the museum experience.

Working alongside community organizations, disability advocates, educators, healthcare providers, and accessibility partners, the museum will continue refining experiences that remove barriers and expand access so every child has the opportunity to learn, play, and belong.

Guest Comfort & Hospitality

The museum has been thoughtfully planned to reduce stress for families while encouraging longer visits and greater exploration throughout Historic Downtown Winter Garden.

Planned guest amenities include:

Family lockers and secure luggage storage for visitors arriving from hotels, airports, sporting events, or convention activities

Comfortable nursing and family care rooms

Quiet and sensory-friendly spaces

Stroller parking

Water refill stations

Indoor and outdoor seating throughout the campus

A family café featuring healthy and allergy-conscious menu options

A thoughtfully curated museum store offering educational toys, books, creative activities, and affordable replacement clothing and essentials for children enjoying the museum's outdoor water play experiences

Every operational decision is intended to help families spend less time managing logistics and more time creating meaningful memories together.

Outdoor Adventure & Destination Experience

The museum extends beyond traditional exhibit spaces by embracing Central Florida's natural environment and Historic Downtown Winter Garden.

The signature Tree of Possibilities, outdoor exhibits, interactive water features, and Eco Trail invite children to explore, discover native Florida plants and wildlife, and engage in hands-on environmental learning.

Through direct connections with the West Orange Trail, guests will be encouraged to continue their adventure beyond the museum campus. Planned bicycle rentals, bicycle parking, walking connections, and trail access will allow families to experience one of Orange County's premier outdoor recreation assets while extending their visit to local restaurants, shops, parks, and cultural attractions.

These experiences strengthen the museum's role as both a family destination and an eco-tourism asset that complements Orange County's broader tourism strategy.

Facility Operations

The museum is being planned as a year-round destination operating approximately 360 days annually, recognizing that holidays and school breaks are among the busiest travel periods for families visiting Central Florida.

The guest experience has been designed around an average visit of approximately 2½ to 4 hours, with opportunities to comfortably spend even longer through indoor exhibits, outdoor exploration, daily programming, café dining, seasonal events, birthday celebrations, field trips, camps, and community activities.

Daily operations will emphasize:

Exceptional guest service and hospitality

Clean, safe, and welcoming facilities

Proactive exhibit maintenance

Strong safety and security protocols

Efficient admissions and guest flow

Technology-supported ticketing and memberships

Accessibility and inclusion

Continuous operational improvement based on guest feedback and performance metrics

A Destination Designed for Families

Every detail of the I AM Children's Museum has been intentionally planned to create an experience that feels welcoming, inspiring, and memorable from the moment guests arrive until they return home.

Whether visiting as part of a Central Florida vacation, a school field trip, a birthday celebration, or a weekend family tradition, guests will discover a museum that celebrates curiosity, creativity, nature, community, and play through experiences found nowhere else in the region.

More than a children's museum, the I AM Children's Museum is designed to become a place where families return year after year, children grow through every visit, and Orange County gains a premier destination that encourages longer stays, repeat visitation, and meaningful connections throughout Historic Downtown Winter Garden.
