Project Components

Historic Home Welcome Center
2,700 Square Feet

A restored historic home serving as the museum’s primary arrival experience, visitor welcome center, guest services hub, ticketing, orientation, and community gathering space, creating a distinctive first impression rooted in the site’s history.

Indoor Museum Experience
20,000 Square Feet

Purpose-built, climate-controlled museum space featuring hands-on interactive exhibits, creative arts experiences, educational programming, flexible learning environments, family amenities, and spaces designed for year-round operation regardless of weather.

Outdoor Eco-Educational Experience
12,000 Square Feet

Dedicated outdoor exhibit environments that extend learning beyond the museum walls through nature-based play, environmental education, water exploration, creative discovery, and interactive outdoor experiences designed for multigenerational participation.

Discovery Trails
Approximately 2 Miles

Approximately 2 miles of immersive Discovery Trails designed to extend the museum experience through interactive discovery, eco-education, problem-solving challenges, scavenger hunts, and hands-on exploration. Families explore native Florida plants and wildlife, complete discovery missions, solve creative challenges, and engage with outdoor learning experiences that inspire curiosity, teamwork, and active exploration while encouraging longer visitor stays.

Visitor Experience

Together, these permanent components create a seamless, destination experience where families move from the Historic Home Welcome Center into indoor museum exhibits, continue through outdoor eco-educational experiences, and explore approximately two miles of immersive Discovery Trails. Designed for visitors of all ages and abilities, the experience encourages families to learn, create, explore, and discover together through accessible, hands-on experiences. Each component has a distinct purpose while working together as one integrated visitor attraction, offering a comprehensive destination experience that cannot be replicated within a traditional indoor museum alone.
